Homemade Mallomars

A few days ago my sister had brought home a chocopie and enthusiastically explained that they tasted just like mallomars, a chocolate covered marshmallow cookie, the cookies of their youth. ( is it weird that we never eat chocopies ? ) Mallomars aren't sold  in California so they haven't had one in quite some time. Since I am the youngest of the three of us, I don't remember these cookies at all. But hey how hard would it be to make mallomars ? So off to the internet I go for a recipe.

Orphan Breakfast House

 Ugh. This place is sooo good. If you are ever in east Sacramento, you neeeeed to visit this place! As the name suggests, they serve a lot of breakfast type foods. Pancakes, egg scrambles,  breakfast burritos, french toast ect. But they also have some lunch items too like sandwiches.

They have daily specials presented on this chalkboard before you walk in ~

 We got the strawberry cheescake pancakes ! They really didn't taste like cheescake at all though. The board says something about sweetened cream cheese in the middle but I didn't taste it at all. Delicious pancakes nonetheless.

 There is something special about their pancakes. mMMmm. Maple syrup is served in a old coke bottle on the table. Real cute.

 This is the Triple Happiness. "crisp brown rice grilled in ginger-soy with summer vegetables grilled in spicy orange chili oil, accompanied by grilled steak, chicken and rock shrimp served with peanut sauce" Taken from the yelp page. I looooove their brown rice *O* theres something about it too haha.

 I dunno why I don't look happy hahaa. I was just too focused on finally eating. Cause after waiting for the food we always have to wait a few minutes while everyone takes pictures ( especially my brother but not complaining cause I need it for the blog )

This place gets really busy on the weekends, so we try to go on Monday's if I don't have school. We tried going on Sunday once and there was TONS of people waiting outside.

 Before leaving we picked up a pound of their house made granola ! mmMmmmMmm.

Also,  my hair is getting longer :D yaaay.

Small update (jk not small )

Hello there !

I'm sorry for not updating much, I've sort of been focusing on school lately. My grades have really been bothering me the past few weeks. u____u""Chemistry is just gosh darn so hard with my teacher. T__T Luckily I did very well on my recent test. yaaay ! I cannot wait for the school year to end. only a few more months!

 So lately I haven't had time to bake or go out and do much and when I do do something I always forget to take pictures to blog about it :x silly me.

 One of our friends ( our as in my siblings and I ) is going to bootcamp ? for the marines I believe. Something of that sort for a few months. He decided to have a party at John's Incredible Pizza haha. I hadn't been there in a long time and I had way more fun than I thought I would ! I really could not contain my excitement as we went through the arcade. It only lasted about an hour and a half though. Some of the machines weren't even paying out when I won the jackpots several times ! stupid things. The prizes were also SUPER MAJORLY LAME. like wow. Everyone there pretty much gave their tickets to us and we had about 1500 total. so basically all together we spent around $50 for 1500 tickets and a $10 nerf gun was like 1200 tickets. everything cost so many tickets !

We ended up getting a few chinese finger traps, a plastic boomerang, these rolled up paper things you flick at people, and 1 I repeat ONE  plush boxing glove. We were just like so does that prize include two gloves or one and he's just like one. ugh. super lame prizes. About the boomerang though, we went to a grocery store afterwards and I brought it in hoping I could test it out a bit. One of our friends asks to see it and throws it hard and it lands in the shelves and we couldn't find it again. ( /___-)

Oh! So yesturday was Valentines day, HAPPY VALENTINES DAY ! I made small heart shaped brownies covered with like fudge for people and drew on them with white chocolate. I even hid one in the classroom for one of them and left them a note to find it. He was thrilled with the surprise. It was actually really last minute though. I had an extra brownie lol shhhh. I received nothing that day. ty very much friends. thanks

Also had lunch with my brother at a park. 

I've been in a very bummy mood lately. I really would like to eat bubblegum ice cream :T haven't had it in yeaars. Well I hope things get better soon. Some family from L.A are coming to visit this weekend. I'm not nearly as excited as I should be.

Hada Labo Review

Hello ! Today I'll be reviewing two Hada Labo products : Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion ( right ) & Hydrating Milk ( Left ). I purchased these off of Amazon.com.

So last year I started hearing a lot about the company Hada Labo and how it's super popular in Japan and how a bottle of lotion sells every 4 seconds. At that time, I was beginning to get interested in asian brand cosmetics and Hada Labo seemed like a good company to try out.

So first is the Moisturizing Lotion.

 

 In Japan and other asian countries, lotion means toner. The texture is pretty much like water but slightly sticky I guess. It comes in a bottle and I just shake out a few drops on my hand before patting it onto my face. After I got a hang of how much I needed for my face, it was absorbed quickly and my face felt fresh and slightly hydrated afterwards. I use this after I wash my face and before I use my moisturizer. I feel like it helps my skin absorb other products after I put it on, so I use it before doing masks too ((: Plus it doesn't break me out.

I'll give this a  5/5

Next is the Hydrating Milk.

The texture is like... imagine slightly thick, sticky milk I guess ? haha. It looks white when its all together like that, but when you spread it its clear. This also comes in a bottle and I usually use 2-4 drops for my entire face. When I first pat it in it makes my face feel oily and gross, but after like 30 seconds its completely absorbed and my face feels so soft and supple *O* I really like this moisturizer. It's very light, doesn't feel heavy or oil when absorbed into my face, and doesn't cause me to break out.

I give this a  5/5

My siblings use Cetaphil as their moisturizer and sometimes I take a liittle bit and pat it on parts of my face that still need hydrating. One time I decided to try using only the Cetaphil lotion to compare it to the Hada Labo Milky lotion. The Cetaphil lotion felt heavy and oily on my skin and the next day I got a pimple on my nose lol .

Overall, I think these are great products. I think they have really helped smooth and hydrate my skin. Before, my skin was dry, oily, and my nose was flaking and peeling a LOT. My change in face wash and exfoliator helped too though. I've been using them for about 8 months maybe ? and I'm almost out so I will be repurchasing soon ^___^ Although I think I will try the other types of lotion ( toner ) that Hada Labo has and keep using the Hydrating Milk.

In other news :

Emoticon nails ! and my friend's birthday was coming up so I made her a One Direction doll. This one is Zayn, but I also made Louis too. These plushies were waaay too much work ugh  ~ ___ ~ Atleast she liked them I guess.

A Cream Dress and Dinner

First of all, happy birthday to my dear sister ! She's already 20 ! Time sure does fly. This week it was Dine Downtown Restaurant Week and many local chefs put together three course dinner menus for $30 per person. We've never experienced the downtown restaurants or the type of the places that serve three course meals, so this was just the perfect thing to try for my sister's 20th !

There was a list of participating restaurants and we spent quite some time looking over their menus. We decided on going to Paragary's and I'm glad we did.

We were a bit overly dressed compared to everyone else, but it was whatever. Dressing up is fun anyways, right ? haha

For starters, I chose the Citrus Cured Salmon with mandarins, avocado, and pickled beets. The salmon was so good ! How can I eat any other salmon now that I know stuff like this exists ?? I must try making cured salmon later. Everyone else got the salad, which didn't look that pretty, but I thought it was tasty as well.

For the main course I got the Grilled Hanger Steak with a potato celery root gratin, chard and black truffle jus.  I. Just. Loved this. It was so nicely portioned and everything just had so much flavor. There were two little slices of some mushroom on the steak and I was so sad there wasn't more! I just loved everything.

Is this how rich people eat all the time ? I am so jealous haha

For desert they had two options, an apple galette and a chocolate espresso pots de crème. The apple thing was alright. I didn't eat much of it, but I nearly ate a whole ramekin of the chocolate pots de creme ! It was rich, chocolatey, airy, and soft. Our waiter suggested we share, since people usually never finished the chocolate dessert, but I ended up eating almost a whole thing haha.

We went home after and enjoyed some cake with friends. It was such a perfect dinner and I wish I could say the same about my day. Someone stole my clothes from my locker today but I also played a few good games of tennis with my friends before dinner. Why would someone want to steal someone's sweaty dirty p.e clothes ? cmooonnn. just a few more months and then I'm done with p.e   -  3 -

Isn't he just adorable ? My friend helped me buy him at an anime convention ((: his bow sewing broke T__T I fixed it just now though so it's okay. My friend was sending me pictures of all the different arpkassos and when I decided on one he said, " Noo you can't ! I'm getting that one ! " hahaha So I chose this guy next.

My brother and sister and I just started insanity a few days ago! My calves are so sore ! x___x I also started using a face roller. Maybe I'll review that later.

 Hello Hello ! I've been meaning to write a blogpost earlier but I was waiting on my brother to give me pictures from his camera.

I really like this button up. It's soft and has cutout sleeves ( even though I don't like showing my arms ). Very cute. I love the color too. My brother and sister and I went out to eat one night when my mum wasn't home. When we were done eating my brother just asked if I wanted to take an OOTD and I was like sure.

We then spent about 3 minutes taking pictures and I didn't really like how most of them came out haha

I also picked up some Adventure Time Comics from my local comic book store ! They're all so adoorabllllyy cute. Hopefully I'll go there again after school or something to buy more :)

 This is Bird Bro ! We found him ( or her ) Sitting in our backyard close to the door. I thought he was dead at first cause he wasn't moving at all. Not even when my dog went near him.

When I told my mom she went outside and poked at it and then he moved a bit. So she just picked him up and brought him inside. I was just like " MOOM HES A BIRD HES SUPPOSED TO BE FREEE ! " she thought he was pretty and wanted to keep him. While he was sitting in this box on the table he jumped out and tried to get away and then my dog got to him !

He pulled out almost all of his tail feathers and he was left with just two :((  Birds can't fly without their tail feathers !

The next day we ended up letting him go. Although we should have kept him till he was better. I regret it now. Before he left we bonded a bit though and he was perched on my hand and I fed him some berries.

He was such a cutie pie.
